Federal Safe at Home Laws

Newrez Financial LLC "Newrez" Approved Correspondent Clients; Please note several states have enacted Safe at Home laws, also called Address Confidentiality Programs. These laws are designed to protect the addresses of persons attempting to escape domestic violence, human trafficking, and other acts of intimidation and physical violence. These programs allow an individual’s physical property address to be shielded and kept confidential by providing them a legal substitute mailing address.


Newrez Correspondent supports Safe at Home laws and state sponsored Address Confidentiality Programs and can accept applications from lenders that have borrowers participating in such programs. For new and/or existing registrations for borrowers participating in a state sponsored program, clients must notify their Sales Director/Client Manager and provide the Newrez Loan number notification and evidence of program participation (such as a state provided program identification card or similar document).  Clients must follow all agencies guidelines including the use of the MERs system.
