Bulletin 2021-026 FEMA Major Disaster Declaration - Louisiana Severe Winter Storms (DR-4590-LA)
NewRez LLC "NewRez" Approved Correspondent Clients: please note that on March 9, 2021, FEMA announced a Major Disaster Declaration pertaining to the Louisiana Severe Winter Storms with an incident period start date of February 11, 2021 and incident end date of February 19, 2021. Under the Declaration, the following twenty-three (23) counties have been designated as impacted areas eligible for FEMA Individual Assistance (IA).

Effective immediately, in accordance with agency and investor requirements, NewRez will implement the following requirements for loans secured by properties located in the counties identified above.
If the effective date of the appraisal or appraisal alternative was on or prior to the February 19, 2021 incident end date, an inspection is required in accordance with Chapter 15, Disaster Policy and Product Profiles prior to closing or funding of the loan.
As with all large disasters, the impacted areas are not definitively confirmed until FEMA formally designates such areas, which occurs following the completion of the incident and assessment of the damage. As a result, we will continue to monitor FEMA announcements for impacted areas in order to update any additional impacted counties.
