Supplemental Consumer Information Form
Newrez LLC "Newrez" Approved Correspondent Clients; Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac announced the mandatory use of the Supplemental Consumer Information (SCIF) Form 1103 for all loans with applications dated on or after March 1, 2023.
The SCIF will be required to facilitate the collection of the borrower preferred language and applicable homeownership education and housing counseling details.
The lender must provide the SCIF to one borrower on the loan application to allow them to:
- Complete the Homeownership Education and Housing Counseling section of the form if education or counseling is required by the loan program or product
- Indicate a language preference. The borrower is not required to select any language options in the Language Preference section, including “I do not wish to respond”.
A copy of the SCIF must always be included in the loan file, even if the language preference has not been completed by the borrower and homeownership education and housing counseling are not required by the program. In these cases, the form would just include the borrower’s names and the loan identifier.
