HUD 184 - Fiscal Year (FY) 2027 Notice

Newrez LLC “Newrez” Approved Correspondent Clients, please note, with the start of the new fiscal year HUD is temporarily suspending the issuance of Section 184 cohort numbers until the system reopens for fiscal year 2027.

 

On September 23, 2026, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) began its financial closeout for the fiscal year 2026. As HUD's financial systems transition to the fiscal year 2027, the Section 184 loan guarantee program will suspend requests to issue cohort numbers received after 11:59 p.m. ET on September 22, 2026.

 

The program will continue to issue Case Numbers and Loan Guarantee Certificates during this time.

Newrez will not purchase loans that do not have a Cohort number and Firm Commitment issuance from HUD 184 prior to the note date.
